The attacker steps in with a right lunge punch, then immediately steps in with a left lunge punch. The defender steps back with the right leg into a left stance and performs the block, then immediately steps back wuth the left leg into a right stance and performs the block and then counters. You are going to alternate sides. This kumite is to develop speed so moves are done very quickly.

Counter: Front kick to the groin (with front leg).

Counter: Step in with front leg – execute spear-hand strike to the eyes with blocking hand.

Defense:
a. Step back with the right leg into a left horse stance – execute an inside knife-hand block with the left hand.
Counter: With the blocking hand execute a palm-heel strike then flick fingers in for a spear-hand strike to the eyes (you may have to step in depending on distance).
