New Year 2008
Posted on December 31st, 2007 No commentsOk. So, I’m going to do it. My new year resolutions. Committing them to blog will give me the ability to review them periodically rather than “conveniently” forgetting them. In no special order.
- Finish the MS degree program. (Only one course remaining. I’ve procrastinated long enough!)
- Finish the tool shed.
- Finish the bookcase in the sun room/study.
- Begin remodeling my home office.
- Use Linux as my primary OS.
- Refine photography skills.
- Work on and strengthen relationships.
- Be serious and intentional about my faith.
I’ll try to do a quarterly update.

Stan
Posted on December 12th, 2007 No commentsOur friend Stan Wright lost his struggle with leukemia. We miss him dearly. I look forward to the day that we will see him again along with other loved ones lost over the years.

Thanksgiving
Posted on November 24th, 2007 No commentsI like to think that I am thankful everyday. In reality I often fall into the trap of wanting more and not appreciating what I have. I was struck by the scenes on the news of people going out at 4 am and earlier to shop for things they really didn’t need. I try not to be judgemental but I think is is safe to say that the iPod, Zune or a plasma HDTV are not essential to anyone’s survival. But, of course, I may be wrong.
It is at least interesting that after a day of thanksgiving, we as a nation indulge shopping and consuming more and more right up through Christmas. I can’t believe how we have twisted these holidays to be all about us. Not about how thankful we are for what we have or how thankful we are for God’s grace. It is all about us. Damn!
